Cesaria Evora
Cesaria Evora has become something of a legend in her lifetime. Her personality, the resuscitation of her career, her music, everything seems to have come out of a novel, and yet it's all true. Born on August 27th 1941, on the Cape Verdian island of Mindelo, she struggled as an artist until the early Nineties. She has since become one of Africa’s most charismatic singers, taking her “saudade” to the four corners of the world.
This was Evora’s second appearance at Langon, and the grand old lady of Atlantic Blues brought 14 fellow Cape Verdian musicians with her for a memorable concert.
